I’m looking to spend part of the year out in Spain mainly out of peak season and the one thing I intend doing is playing quite a bit of golf but I’ve found that generally green fees are expensive. Are there any golf societies, nomads clubs, etc that offer decent rates that you can join or are there any tips anyone can offer to find better rates at certain courses apart from playing at the crack of dawn?

I have been looking at courses in the CDS and Costa Blanca so any other areas would be considered.

Areas of Costa De La Luz are much lower in price. Areas around Rompido have about 5 courses. Not sure of exact prices but they will be lower than CDS.

Prices seem to have dropped from a couple of years ago on the CDS. Saw an offer last week at Santa Maria for 45 euro so some may be cheaper. There are also twilight special rates at most clubs. Peak season for golf is Oct to March on the CDS.

45 Euro for a round is nothing short of robbery, when will they learn.

all true. prices have dropped and there are deals about, expecially twilight deals which might mean from 3pm onwards. this time of year the light is good until 8:30 or more.

€45 might seem a lot, but if you are looking at top shelf courses and say compare Turnberry at GBP140 to the PGA de Catalunya at €80 or less then it looks favourable. try a golf agency as they are generally on top of current deals. also some courses have part-closed and even though their website says 18 only offer 9 holes. (ie, Caldes de Montbui).

can recommend http://www.barcelonagolf.com/golf-courses-catalonia.html if you’re thinking Catalonia.
