    Hiya,

We are hoping to move to Asturias later this year (if we can sell our house here, the market is very slow!), and was wondering if anyone could recommend lawyers etc or had any advice about buying/living there.

    Thanks
    Heatherpsk

I suggest you get in touch with Clive Robbins. He is a chartered surveyor based in Asturias and helps people solve all sorts of property-related issues.

Hi, I’ve just registered on this forum and noticed your message, I’m in the same predicament, I’ve spoken to Clive a lot just lately he’s been very helpful, are you aware of any other services similar to Clives so I can compare costs and services, eg lawyers, architects, structural engineers etc.

No, sorry, I haven’t heard of anyone else, Clives name keeps popping up. We are going over soon and are staying with someone Englisgh who has brought over there in the last year (through NorteCasa/ Costa verde properties). We are hoping to get lots of advice from her..will let you know.
As I said, we have yet to sell our house here so aren’t really in a position to talk to Clive yet but will do.

Where are you planning to move to? Any estate agents you’d recommend?

http://www.alfainmo.com, http://www.ruralianorte.com, http://www.deasturias.com, http://www.tucasaenasturias.com, http://www.pronorte.com, http://www.inmoas.net, http://www.asturian-property.com http://www.reinasgroupo.com, http://www.inmobiliariarivero.com, http://www.rusticas.com, http://www.asturcove.com, http://www.nortecasa.com, http://www.inmobiliariacubera.com. there are others if your spanish is good then this site might help it’s like an Asturias directory, http://www.miasturias.com mostly phone numbers, would be intresting to hear your thoughts when you get back, we are going over again first week in July for 5 days, went over last month to make sure we still felt the same about the area, it’s great, we first wanted to go to Vega near Berbes but soon relised we had little chance of finding a property we liked as the area is very protected, as we started looking west to Villaviciosa wonderful town great people to, not to sure how busy it gets in the summer though, coastal is not cheap, go inland 10km it’s much cheaper 20km it’s even cheaper, Pilona is a beautiful area – stay north of the N634 the hills face south great veiws down the valleys, Torazo – some spot that is too, quite high though. remenber to keep an eye on the Euro http://www.fxstreet.com gives you all the latest rates really important to get the best rate possible if you can use an fx trader

    Hi Kevun,
I hear you’ve been mentioning my name to Ann (at Costa Verde!). We are over in Asturias from the 6th to 13th July..she thought you’d like to meet up and share experiences! Not sure how experienced we are though! We are looking at the areas around Grado (Pravia,Proaza etc), Siero and Pilona mainly. Thanks for the links, we have looked at Reinas and Norte Casa, another is allanglobe.com (good site but you can’t bookmark pages or search for houses by number, and its in Spanish).
If you want to meet up in Asturias, I’m not sure of the best way to give you our contact details as I think Mark might remove my email address!! I’m not a great forum user, I know theres a way to privately message but have no idea what to do!
Would be great to meet up with another English family, my husband speaks very good Spanish but I’m a beginner. so it would be nice to know someone else to speak to! Anyway, will try and get a message to you through Ann too…

    Dear Heather

Of course I won’t cut your email address – I’m not that much of a Nazi! I only get my panga out when companies try and promote themselves in this forum.

But I do recommend that you register. It’s very easy; you just click on the register icon up above and follow the instructions. 3 clicks and you’re in.
