Buying agents & search agents in Spain


Buying agents (or buyers’ agents) work exclusively for the buyer in return for a fee, normally between 1.5pc to 2.5pc of the transaction price. They help buyers define their criteria, search for property on their behalf working with all vendors and agents in the area, and advise on negotiations. Although they charge a fee, a good buying agent can save you time, money, and a lot of stress. Below is a list of buying agents operating in Spain

Search Agents in Spain

Search agents are like buying agents, but they earn their fee by splitting the estate agent’s commission, which means they are not paid by the buyer. This is an important distinction. They can provide a valuable service for buyers, but at the end of the day they are being paid by the vendor. Some search agents also offer a buying service, paid for exclusively by the buyer. The important thing is that they should be totally transparent, so the client understands the fee structure in both cases.
