If you like contemporary architecture you may struggle to find property that suits your taste in Spain. Despite a reputation for wacky architecture ( for example Gaudi in Barcelona, the Guggenheim in Bilbao, the ‘City of Arts and Sciences’ in Valencia), most of the residential construction in the last decade has been a dreary variant on ‘modern Mediterranean’, or what you could also call Marbella style. So it’s always refreshing to see some contemporary architecture like this house on the market with Engel & Völkers in San Cugat, a town near Barcelona popular with well-healed commuters. Not exactly holiday-home land, but a great place to live.
